Is Electrolysis Permanent?
A big YES! But, in order to achieve permanence, it requires a series of treatments that when scheduled close together the follicle does not have time to recover. For example, just as an orthodontist can permanently move your teeth, your electrologist can permanently eliminte your hairs. Both, hair removal and teeth straightening take a series of treatments to achieve the final goal.

Why an Electrologist's certification matters?
When you go to a electrologist who is a Certified Professional Electrologist (CPE) you are working with a Internationally Board Certified Professional; someone who adheres to the standards set for the profession by the American Electrology Association (AEA); who has successfully passed comprehensive testing; and someone who, in order to maintain the certification, attends 75 hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) every 5 years. This means that a CPE is always up to date with information pertinent to the field of electrolysis. The prestigious CPE certification is recognized worldwide.

Why do I have unwanted hair?
There are many reasons that hairs grow. The most common, by far, is that it is genetic. Other reasons: prescription medication such as some birth control pills; or there could even be a physical condition such as hypothyroidism or even pregnancy. Puberty, pregnancy, and menopause can all cause large changes in hormones circulating in a woman's body.

For most people excess hair growth is a nuisance but for others it is a more severe problem. Whichever one fits your situation, I am here as your electrologist to take care of it for you. As soon as my clients start treatments with me their hair growth problem becomes my problem and it becomes my responsibility eliminate it.

How many treatments will it take?
This question is the most difficult to answer, since there are so many factors that come into play as to why the hair is growing in the first place. Other important elements are how much hair you have to remove and how strong or virulent the hairs are.

The best advice I have been able to give clients is to try electrolysis with me for two months. After those two months you will have seen how fast the hairs fade away and you will not have invested a great deal financially. If you are happy with the progress you see, then continue down the road to success.

How does electrolysis work?
Electrolysis is the elimination of the hair germination cells from which a hair would grow if left to flourish. This can be done with the Shortwave method also known as Thermolysis which utilizes Alternating Current (AC), the Galvanic method also known as Electrolysis which utilizes Direct current (DC), or the Blend method which utilizes both the Shortwave and Galvanic blended together. Electrolysis is the Gold Standard in hair removal industry. And the only method proven to be permanent.

What does it feel like?
You will not feel the insertion of the probe because the hair follicle already has an opening in your skin. While the machine is on and the action is occurring in the follicle, there is a slight sensation that people describe as a pinch. Many even find their time lying on the treatment table to be a very relaxing break from a hectic day; some have even fallen asleep. At Delicate Electrolysis I offer all of the different electrolysis methods so that we have many options of what you will feel. This means that you will help me to decide what is used, I don't do a treatment on you but instead I do a treatment with you.

What about infection control?
At Delicate Electrolysis, we follow the Infection Control Standards as set by the American Electrology Association (AEA). These Infection Control Standards were developed following the guidelines of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), and the Association for Practitioners in Infection Control and Epidemiology (APIC).

What if I am pregnant?
There is no worry about having electrolysis while pregnant. Since pregnancy can cause and the surge of hormones it brings on can cause hair growth where they never were before, this is great news.
